Blog Post #10: Style Icons
Bethany Joy Lenz is my style icon and my role model. I feel like the two often go hand in hand.
BJL is an actress, musician, author, blogger, songwriter, activist, and mother. She also has a very unique sense of style. Most of her pieces are vintage pieces she has gathered on her travels. She is definitely an old soul and her style reflects that.
On her blog, Joy likes to do a Wardrobe Wednesday post where she provides a few photos of herself in her favorite outfit of the moment. I posted some of my favorites above. She often likes to tell her thought process behind each outfit, as well as where each piece was acquired.
Being a style icon is a tricky business because there is a lot of judgement that comes with it. You make yourself vulnerable to criticism, but BJL doesn’t let it affect her. She is who she is and she is totally okay with being herself. Her daughter, Maria, is lucky to have a mother who is so talented, strong, and free.
